Rainy day..
And then for no reason, I start to write again.. Its raining here for the last few days.. Yeah.. I hear you say "You're in Seattle, what else do you expect ? " but this is not the typical Seattle rain that drizzles all the time but I can never get drenched in it...
I used to love rain.. And then this stormy rain here for the last few days have brought back all those fond memories..
Once as a kid.. We practiced really hard for a badminton match to be played at DAV Mogappair which in those days was in a land far far away from Adyar. I can't even remember any of my team mates but it rained so much and it took us forever to reach there. When I reached there I was completely soaked. The sports day was canceled and I ended up coming back home.. disappointing
And then once when I was going to write a preliminary written test for a internship program during my 10th standard when I was so drenched that I didn't even feel like giving the test.. If I ever meet N M Krishna I should ask him if he remembers this day.. But in retrospect that day was probably the turning point of my life.. Wow..
Sitting in a theater completely soaked watching the move Unbreakable .. I remember Prahlad, Jai, Sriram and Amit were there.. remember the scene when I really knew what it means when they say 'chill run through your spine'.. Cold
April 13 2001.. Prahlad and I on a ride from Alwarpet to AnnaNagar.. Soaked completely.. getting caught by the traffic policeman for running a red light which I would have seen had I been wearing my glasses.. :D Can't forget the hot tea at vatsa's house.. That day is remembered by both Vatsa and Prahlad as the 6473470 day -un4gettable
Heavy rain and I'm again driving with literally few feet of visibility at night.. And right when I was on top of Adyar flyover, there was a power cut.. I stopped right there waited for my eyes to adjust to the darkness and then continued to drive.. Scary..
and its still raining....
